TMTL was established in July 2005, when TAFE acquired part of Eicher Motors Ltd. which included the tractor unit in Bhopal, gears and transmission unit in Parwanoo, and engine unit in Alwar. TAFE also acquired the right to use the Eicher Engine brand name for its existing products. Since then,with the help of our pioneering R&D department and our technology partners Ricardo Engines and AVL from UK andSisu Diesel andValtra of Finland, TMTL Engines Division has broadened its rangeof gensetsfrom 5 kVA to 125 kVA.
The 5 to 45 kVA range of gensetsis the air cooled range and is sold under the Eicher Engines brand under the TMTL Engines Division umbrella. The smallest engine which powers our 5 and 7.5 kVA gensets canbear the load of two 1.5 ton ACs and still has the lowest footprint among engines with a 1500 rpm speed. From 5 to 25 kVA our gensets are naturally aspirated; 30 and 35 kVA are turbo charged, and 35 to 45 kVA are turbo charged with after cooler to make it extremely fuel efficient. All our engines in this range have A1 governingand the highest moment of inertia owingto the heavy flywheel ensuring the best quality of power and zero flickering. Our gensets are relatively maintenance free as parts such as the radiator, radiator fan, water pump etc. are absent. This alsoresults in higher fuel efficiency as no power is expended to run the water cooling system. Being air cooled, these gensets can work for a longer durations without stopping even under hot weather conditions.
